THE ONES WHO CARRIEDWhat We Carry

WHAT WE CARRY

Work and Money

A shift ends, but the day does not. There are groceries to buy, people to pick up, and bills waiting on the table.

For some, work is a source of pride. For others, it is what keeps the lights on while they hope for a different future. Many feel both.

A paycheck can mean more than money. It might mean a child's shoes, a repaired car, or a little room to breathe. It can also come with hours nobody at home sees.

There is a person behind every uniform, every long shift, and every quiet decision to keep going.

There are people who leave home before the sun comes up and people who return when everyone else is asleep. Some miss dinners. Some trade shifts to make a school event. Some are proud of the work itself, even when the hours are hard.

Money can bring relief and worry in the same week. A family might celebrate a paid bill and still wonder what next month will cost. That does not make their effort small.

Every story is different. These words are here to offer something to think about, not to tell you what your life means.
